Who Am I?

Let me tell you my story...

I grew up in a small town called Midsomer Norton, to which I still live in. There isn’t much here except small, local businesses and a few industrial estates in the surrounding area. Because of which, most of my mates left school, seeking out apprenticeships working in the trade. This wasn’t for me. I’m not a very “hands on” person who doesn’t mind getting covered in plaster, mud or anything of the sort.

Growing up I couldn’t see much opportunity in my area for doing things that I wanted to do. It also didn’t help that I couldn’t really pin point what I wanted to do either. I have always been a big fan of video games and computers. I’m still ordering games off eBay for my Play Station 2 to this day. So I thought coding and designing would be the best route. It wasn’t until year 13 at sixth form I found what I love.

I had previously ran my own YouTube channel where I did short comedy videos and the occasional gaming video. This was key in teaching me how to A) Use a range of editing software and B) Launch social media adverts to promote my channel successfully. By using Facebook, I was able to gain an additional 75 subscribers just from two videos. This may not seem like a lot, but for the time, at such a young age, it was amazing.

It wasn’t until my second year at Midsomer Norton Sixth-form I discovered my passion for website design. One of my subjects was IT where I did a two year course studying social media effects on individuals and businesses and website design. From then, I knew what I could do to create my own opportunities in the industry I enjoyed, and from the area I live in.

I felt like, with the knowledge I have, I could start something for my own. And that’s exactly what I’ve done!
